Updates
It's been almost two weeks since my last entry, where do i start... I'm feeling surreal at the moment. From having so many guests and all the accompanying orchestra and senandung malam to sudden silence is kinda strange, even though I'm used to it by now. First of all, let me thank my guests for making the trip Down Under. To Mr & Mrs Julyndra, thanx for making time to meet up while on ur honeymoon, hope u've enjoyed ur stay. To Fad & Shamyn, it's another great year of Sydney holiday, hope that it was just as good as last year's if not better. To Farid, nice meeting up with u. To Shimx, hope that u've enjoyed ur birthday celebrations here in Sydney. To Yana, nice meeting u. To Fauzi, thanx for being around, last year or this year better? And lastly to Sri, thanks a million for making that third trip this year, luv u lots.
It was a white Sunday in parts of New South Wales two Sundays ago, we were from The Gap driving and passed by a whole stretch that was all white, not patches here and there but covered almost entirely everything. Such freak weather, we were all excited. Reminded me of a scene from Home Alone, though not that thick. The sideroads were covered, the cars were covered, the streets were covered, the trees were covered, and most amazingly the vast green golf courses were all white.
Went to the Malaysian Festival before that, the day's theme for all of us was 'Makan'. Had briyani, satay, cendol, etc. The food wasn't that nice, it was just the thought of having food that we could find back home in Singapore that was appealing. I guess it mattered more for me & Fauzi than to the rest. Anyway, the festival itself was a disappointment compared to last year's.
Read in the papers yesterday that Badde Manors cafe is due to close down on the 23rd of September. Such a sad day... this fav hangout joint has been serving coffee and cakes for over 20 years, famous especially among Sydney Uni students. I especially love the apple strudel with ice cream. It is also the only place I know here that has a CMK sign on its wall. The Malay sign says "Ditegah meludah". My favourite cafe in Sydney is due for closure, hopefully I'll be able to make one last sip of coffee there before it closes, but I'm sure its gonna be packed from now on.
Well, Pak Pedes Pak Pedes... it's time again to catch up with my studies, one last final stretch...
ps: check out the uploaded pics...
I live alone Dear Allah, stay by my side In all my daily needs, be thou my guide... Grant me good health, for that indeed I pray To carry on my work from day to day... Keep pure my mind, my thoughts, my every deed Let me be kind, unselfish in my neighbour's need... Spare me from fire, from flood, malicious tongues, From thieves, from fear and evil ones... If sickness or an accident befall, Then humbly Allah, I pray, hear thou my call... And when I am feeling low, Or in despair, Lift up my heart and help me in my prayer... I live alone, Dear Allah, yet have no fear, Because I feel your presence ever near...
