The Moral Of The Story Is...

Forget Satre, forget Plato, and forget Confucius. It's stories like these that teach us the real meaning of life!

A non-conformist bird decides not to fly south for the winter.

He says, 'I've had enough of this flying south every winter, I'll just stay right here on this farm, what's the big deal, anyway?'

So he stays. Winter comes and is very cold. The non-conformist bird has never felt such cold weather and is afraid that he might freeze to death. Realising he has made a big mistake by staying, he heads to a nearby barn for shelter. On his way to the barn, it begins to snow. The poor bird is cold, tired and hungry.

'Why did I stay?' he asks himself as he collapses on the ground.

As he lies there covered by the snow, a cow comes by. The cow, feeling the need to relieve himself, craps right on the bird.

At first the bird is angry and says, 'Who did this horrible thing to me? How dare someone crap on me! I'll get him for this.'

The crap is too heavy for him to free himself. But, after a while the crap begins to warm him and he forgets all about his anger. In fact he is so warm that he begins to sing. A buzzard passing by overhears the singing and goes down to investigate. As he clears away the crap he finds the bird. The bird is so happy to be free from the crap that he thanks the buzzard, who then decides to eat the little bird.

The moral of this story: Just because someone craps on you, it does not make them your enemy, and just because someone gets you out of the crap, it does not make them your friend.

If only Tan Ah Teck has this kind of moral of the story...

Karangan Koyak

Smalam pegi rumah Cik Fiza dan Cik Juli makan malam nasi ngan kari daging ngan chapati ngan semangka ngan lain-lain lagi. Lepas tu main Trivial Pursuit hingga dua pagi, abih balik tido...

Malam ni pegi longhouse skali lagi, ni kali rumah Dr Hazman dan Abg Mosman, yg terletaknya dua pintu dari rumah smalam. Di sini lah (longhouse) tempat menghuni penghulu-penghulu kampong melayu di Wollongong. Objektif malam ini main Risk sampai menang. Para hadirin termasuk yg semalam tambah Poji, tolak Liza, Firdaus ngan kawan dia. Objektif di-met kira-kira kol 1.30pagi apabila saya mengalahkan tentera merah dibawah General Juli. Bila dah menang pon balik, masuk internet gelungsur... setakat di sini sahajalah cerita melayu koyak. Kalau cikgu melayu pat ACS baca ini cerita mesti dia bingitz pasat dulu bahasa melayu selalu dapat A tapi sekarang malas nak tulis karangan betul-betul... tapi takpe, cikgu melayu slalu relaks one corner so jangan tension...

I ain't chickened enuff!!!

I thought I was done with having chicken for the moment, but guess what I had for lunch today??? YES... CHICKEN!!! Ayam masak lemak to be specific. Anyway I got online not to ramble about my chicken meal, but specifically to enter the following - according to my laptop's clock, I have approximately 1 hour and 18 minutes left before my holiday is officially over, which means that in a few minutes, I will be embarking on my final journey of my overseas studies.

Uni resumes tomorrow, it will be my last semester, the final lap, before I make my way back to Singapore. I am excited yet sad, sad yet excited - mmmmm, sounds like a good tongue twister... any circular statement will then be a good tongue twister. Anyway, back to where I was, as much as I wish that this will go on indefinitely, I am excited coz I'm nearing home, which means that I will be around the people I love most, but sad coz this unforgettable, extremely wonderful and lovely chapter in my life is about to come to a conclusion. However,  I am glad to say that I am extremely thankful and satisfied that my dream of studying abroad has eventuate, and that with it has come along an insurmountable amount of exposure. I will endure these final hurdle with vigour and cherish its every ounce and moment with contentment. Wishing myself all the best this final semester!!!

Makan Updates

Yesterday was another day of makans... as expected I had nasi ayam for lunch - 2 overflowing plates of it. Went to Anatolia for turkish dinner with Fauzi, Azizah, Hazman, Mosman, Zan & Kak Sam. Had Guvec - a kind of lamb & vege curry that u're supposed to eat with the turkish bread.

Too bad it wasn't as nice and authentic as the one at Mado Cafe - my fav for Turkish joint. Nanti kiter bawak tetamu yang akan datang pegi Mado Cafe ok??? Supper was crepes with cream cheese &  strawberry sauce @ Pancakes On The Rocks. Today I skipped breakfast, had fish and potato gems for lunch, went cycling and had celery soup for dinner... By the way, bam bam nye si dia tu!!! Tengok pipi tu!!!

I Feel Like CHICKEN Tonite!!!

View of Sydney from our fave playground, too bad it was a hazy day...

Yawwnnnnnnnnn... just came back from a long day in Sydney with Fauzi, Sanjay & Harshid. I've had an overdose of CHICKEN today. I am CHICKEN-stuffed to the max I don't feel like having any CHICKEN for the next few days. Had AYAM bakar with rice for brunch @ 'AYAM Goreng 99', then dinner was hainanese CHICKEN rice and CHICKEN satay @ 'Laksa House'. Supper was mocha at an Oxford Street streetside cafe as we amused ourselves by watching all the gays walked by and XXX... ehehehhe funny lah, sumthin we can't do in S'pore... but I think I'm gonna have CHICKEN soon anyway coz there's marinated CHICKEN in the freezer and Kak Long plans to make CHICKEN rice tomorrow... Oh no!!! She's making CHICKEN rice! I forgot! Shouldn't have bought the CHICKEN rice just now, mannnn... now I feel like I've wasted my $7.90 on that CHICKEN rice... yes, that's how much that CHICKEN rice cost me. Convert it to Sing dollars and that'll be $9.90SGD. To think that u can get it in Spore for only what? $2.50??? That's 4 times the price!!! Well, what to do, when the cravings come then that's the price to pay for such satisfaction. Ok lah gonna sleep and digest my CHICKEN intake for the day... Goodnite!!!

With Sanjay & Harshid. See the tallest tower just to my right, that's where me & Sri had her birthday dinner last year... tallest point overlooking Sydney...

Hahahahaha... ok now I'm full gonna sleep soon... perut kenyang hati senang... besok 'late night shopping' day, going to jalan-jalan @ Sydney with Poji, Sanjay and Rishid (that's his name according to Fauzi). Rizal's Gonna Have Cheese Rings...

Went to uni today to attend Scott's graduation, took pics and said farewell, quite sad but I'm getting used to it. We meet people from all over the world, then we split ways and go miles apart again, back to where we come from... hmmmm just a few months left and it will be my turn. I can't wait for this to end so that I can start working and earn some money, but at the same time I don't want what I'm doing now to come to an end either, coz that will mean the end of freedom. What choice do I have... lots actually, we can choose to do whatever we want but then we'll have to live by that decision, I mean if we choose not to work then we'll have to accept not having money... I hope I'm making sense, I'm just writing without thinking... does anyone have any idea where I can upload photos aside from yahoo, photobucket or cybertarp??? I've got photos to upload but no where to do so. I'm hungry now, had Tom Yum from Heinz the brand and added thin kway teow for dinner, but it was so tasteless i barely ate them. Think I'm gonna have HomeBrand cheese rings in a while. I've been refraining myself from night snacks, coffee, anything unhealthy basically, and added to my diet more fruits and vege and lotsa exercise, but tonight I'm gonna give myself a break and eat cheese rings instead of orange... sounds good, I'm drooling... If u've ever wondered how to teach an ang moh speak malay and if u have Windows Xp, Fauzi has found out how to do so. Just go to control panel - speech - then type whatever sentence u want then ur ang moh pc will speak whatever language in an ang moh slang and then u can have a good laugh! Try it try it!! Highly recommended. I'm not sure if other windows have dat function though. Ok gonna have my cheese rings now... Bye!

2 Days Of Makan and 4 Since Our Last Workout...

Yesterday Hazman invited me & Poji to his house for a nasi lemak lunch. Thx to Kak Sam for cooking. Stayed till about 9pm playing Trivial Pursuit - a general knowledge board game, with them and the rest - Rosman, Mosman and the 2 Izans. Then we proceeded to Al Mondo cafe where I had my chocolate cake and latte, found another place that's opened till late.

Today me, Poji, Hazman & Sharizan (hope I got the name right) drove up to Penrith just to have Krispy Kreme doughnuts - again. This short excursion actually took up the whole day coz its winter and the days are short. Just lepaked at Krispy Kreme eating doughnuts. We bought a total of 4 boxes of a dozen each - again. Becoz the 4 of us were employed for the day to eat the doughnuts, we had to put on our Krispy Kreme songkoks as part of the employees' uniform.

After we've filled our stomachs with enuff dough it was then time to play a game of Risk at Hazman's house, same people as yesterday. Enuff dough for the day we then filled our stomachs with rice. Tonite's dinner menu was ayam masak lemak, cooked from scratch by our invited chef from Brisbane - Rosman. Sedap pulak tu, bagus betul budak ni masak. Once perut dah kenyang it was time to resume our game of Risk. The same game which we started at 6pm was not over, I've managed to conquer the continents of South and North America but we had to stop at 1am+ almost 2 coz the guys were zoning out. Went home.

That's my story for the last two days, just recalling what happened coz it's 3 plus in the morning and I'm lazy to think or write anything else...

Goodnight people... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

First victim was Su Waii, bewildered that we were both online... heheehhe. 2nd victim... alamak, Fauzi's mum lah! The fact that we both could get online was suspicious enough to warrant an sms from singapore to determine our exact location... ok gotta go now, e-kayuing with poji n suwaii.

Concert of the year!

Watched a concert today. Venue - Wollongong Mall. Artist - Shannon Noll. Who is he? Last year's Australian Idol runner-up. Crowd - 30,000 die hard fans. No, just joking. I'm not good at estimating the number of people, but the crowd was massive. Wollongong Mall was jam-packed shoulder to shoulder. People were climbing on trees, poles, roofs, even the upper floors of the shopping centre's carpark to get a glimpse of this Aussie mate. He did not disappoint those who turned up, braved the cold and waited long for his appearance, he sang 3 songs... WOW!!!

PS2 and Crab

This week has been Playstation 2 week. I have heard so much about this excellent piece of technology but have never had the chance to experiment with it. Well, today I had a really good taste of PS2's capabilities. I may be a little late and outdated in having my first attempt at this but what the heck. Went to Sanjay's house in the morning to play PS2 - The Midnight Club again. Then in the evening went to Scott's place to play his PS2. This time I tried playing The Winning Eleven, Need for Speed & GT4. Excellent games, had extreme fun especially with the GT4, good graphics, etc. I'm such a game boy I promised myself a set of the latest Playstation model available when I start work... heheh. Left for home @ 1am coz Scott was gonna close shop... sob sob...

And here's a funny story from back home. My dad was planning to cook some crab, so he bought some and put 'em on the floor (they were still in the bag). Some how some way one of them managed to crawl out and it ended up stuck in the toilet hole (you know where the water in the toilet flows down the pipe)... a case of the escaping HOUDINI WANNABE CRAB!!! Anyway, dunno who did it but either Bib or my dad had to use a tong to get the crab out of its trap. Now we all know how to trap crabs! But don't be surprised some day if you find a crab crawling out of your water pipe, or even worse out of the toilet bowl while you are busy doing your business... it might be the crab somebody living in your block was planning to cook for dinner, only that this crab was a better trained Houdini crab than my dad's crab! What will you do when that happens??? Run out of the toilet naked and soil the whole kitchen??? Do you guys remember watching America's Funniest Home Videos - there was this clip where there was some vibration, this guy doing his business thought it was an earthquake and ran out of the loo naked in a panicked state, unfortunately for him someone was rolling the video recorder and caught him on tape... hahhahha what a funny site! Could happen to You! So Beware!!!

Good night people... just remember that when you're asleep having your afternoon/evening nap and you feel sumthin crawling up your legs... it might just be the crab your neighbour on the upper most floor on the other extreme side of your block was planning to cook for dinner!!! hahahahha...

Bubbye!

JAIL vs WORK

IN PRISON...you spend the majority of your time in a 3m x 3m cell.
AT WORK...you spend the majority of your time in a 2m x2m cubicle.

IN PRISON...you get three meals a day.
AT WORK...you only get a break for one meal and you pay for it.

IN PRISON...you get time off for good behaviour.
AT WORK...you get more work for good behaviour.

IN PRISON...the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK...you must carry around a security card and open all the doors yourself.

IN PRISON...you can watch tv and play games.
AT WORK...you get fired for watching tv and playing games.

IN PRISON...you get your own toilet.
AT WORK...you have to share with some idiot who pees on the seat.

IN PRISON...they allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK...you can't even speak to your family.

IN PRISON...the taxpayers pay all the expenses with no work required.
AT WORK...you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON...you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out.
AT WORK...you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

IN PRISON...you must deal with sadistic wardens.
AT WORK...they are called managers.

Quack quack quack...

I'm starting to get bored with my mid session break. No tutorials, no lectures, no stress, no-thing to do... hmmmmm... have been playing Championship Manager to kill my boredom, and I am not even playing the latest version, stuck with the 2000/2001 season. Went to Sanjay's house last Saturday, Me & Poji played Playstation 2 - The midnight Club, some racing game till 3am, the host was already sleeping, we left the house quietly, I could have continued playing till the sunrise and further, but it wasn't nice.

Anyway, apart from the minor fever that I had the past 2 nights, we have been actively working out now that we're free. I've been put on a 20 day task to put Big Boboy Poji in tip top shape. 20 day money back guarantee. Intense training. The results are already obvious, just speeding them up a little before uni resumes. I asked Poji to do some static sprints, he did some static ronggeng instead, but the ronggeng is gradually becoming sprints. Further update on my neck, now that I'm back to eating fruits and light meals instead of oily food, my neck has started to take back its original shape... hehehe... had 2 bread rolls with onion soup for dinner.

Wonder what I'm gonna do tomorrow... wish there was a Borders here that I could just sit and read the whole day - Dude, Where's My Country? Have u guys heard that book? It's by Michael Moore, wonder if they have it in Singapore, they should, I suppose... In the mood for some recipe books as well, all the exotic and healthy cuisines for me to practice my culinary skills... Well, more exercise I guess... more Championship Manager... more spider solitaire... sien sien, I know some of you would like to trade places with me, longing for that freedom where you can just stone huh? Too bad! I'm cherishing every little ounce of these precious moments, although sometimes it can be quite boring...

Ok I'm gonna have an orange now... C ya!

I live alone Dear Allah, stay by my side In all my daily needs, be thou my guide... Grant me good health, for that indeed I pray To carry on my work from day to day... Keep pure my mind, my thoughts, my every deed Let me be kind, unselfish in my neighbour's need... Spare me from fire, from flood, malicious tongues, From thieves, from fear and evil ones... If sickness or an accident befall, Then humbly Allah, I pray, hear thou my call... And when I am feeling low, Or in despair, Lift up my heart and help me in my prayer... I live alone, Dear Allah, yet have no fear, Because I feel your presence ever near...

Today's Quote

I've wed not whom I can live with. I did whom I can't live without.
